Brian Mark · Watch on YouTube · Generated with SnapSummary · 2026-08-25

00:00 In this video, I'm going to teach you

00:01 exactly how to run Instagram follower

00:02 ads so you consistently have a

00:03 predictable stream of clients coming

00:05 into your business and generating

00:06 revenue. For those of you guys that are

00:07 new to my YouTube channel, my name is

00:08 Brian Mark. I help online trainers scale

00:10 online coaching businesses. I've done

00:11 $35 million in sales. My Instagram is

00:13 going to over 400,000 followers. But

00:14 enough about me. Let's talk about you.

00:16 What are Instagram follower ads and why

00:17 should you consider running them?

00:18 Instagram follower ads are boosted posts

00:20 that you will run to put in front of

00:22 your ideal client demographic to get

00:23 them to follow you. They are highly

00:25 targeted towards your ideal client

00:26 demographic. And the purpose of running

00:28 these follower ads is to get somebody to

00:30 come to your Instagram profile page and

00:32 then choose to follow you. Now, I'm

00:33 going to give you some foundations that

00:34 you need to have established before we

00:35 get into follower ads. And I'm going to

00:37 talk about why you need to have these

00:38 foundations established. First things

00:39 first is you need to make sure your

00:40 profile is completely optimized. What I

00:42 mean by this is if you go to your

00:43 Instagram profile right now, is it very

00:45 clear the ideal client that you serve,

00:47 how you help them, and why you're an

00:48 expert? Those three things are not

00:50 extremely clear. When somebody comes to

00:51 your Instagram profile, they're less

00:52 likely to follow you because they won't

00:54 know that your page is specifically for

00:55 them. So, you need to make sure that

00:56 your bio is completely optimized for

00:58 your ideal client demographic. So, when

00:59 they come to your page, they know that

01:00 this Instagram profile is designed

01:02 specifically for them. The second thing

01:03 that you need to have dialed in is you

01:04 need to have a good organic content

01:05 strategy. If you're running boosted

01:07 reels to get people to follow your

01:08 Instagram page, but then when people

01:09 come to your page, there's dog content

01:11 or there's not content that's speaking

01:13 specifically to them, they're less

01:14 likely to choose to follow you. This is

01:16 why I recommend most of my clients get

01:17 to $5,000 a month before they ever start

01:19 running boosted posts or follower ads

01:21 because getting to $5,000 a month tells

01:23 me that you've built enough of a solid

01:25 organic foundation where people know you

01:26 like you and trust you and they're

01:27 willing to buy from you. At that point,

01:29 then we can spend some of that revenue

01:30 that we've generated from our online

01:31 coaching business to bring more traffic

01:32 to our page. So, those are the two

01:34 things that you need to have established

01:35 before you decide that you're going to

01:36 run Instagram follower ads. Now, the

01:38 Instagram follower ad setup is very

01:39 simple. In order to make this as simple

01:41 as possible for you, I'm going to tell

01:43 you this. I want you to go to your

01:44 Instagram profile, go through the last

01:46 10 posts, and find one post that speaks

01:48 specifically to your ideal client

01:50 demographic. I'll give you a bad example

01:51 and a good example. A bad example is if

01:53 you're on a weight loss journey and you

01:54 don't know what snacks to eat in the

01:55 grocery store, steal my three-step

01:57 grocery routine to grab a bunch of

01:59 snacks from the grocery store. That is a

02:00 bad example. Here's a good example. If

02:02 you're a busy dad over 30 that's running

02:03 around with your kids and you don't have

02:04 time to go to the gym, steal my

02:06 three-day workout split that will help

02:07 you get in shape while respecting your

02:09 busy schedule. that is going to be a lot

02:10 more specific to your ideal client

02:12 demographic, which means the people that

02:13 come in from this ad are significantly

02:14 more likely to be dads that are 30 plus

02:17 that are interested in achieving their

02:18 fitness goals even with a busy schedule.

02:20 You always want to choose a post to

02:21 boost that is specifically and highly

02:24 targeted towards your ideal client. You

02:26 do not want to choose the post that has

02:28 the most views on your page because

02:30 typically speaking, the posts that will

02:31 have the most views on your page are not

02:33 the posts that are highly niche content

02:35 because highly niche content is by

02:37 nature going to fit into a smaller

02:39 demographic of people, which means it's

02:42 less likely to convert into buyers

02:44 because it's not targeting at one

02:46 specific person. For follower ads, the

02:48 ads that are the best to choose are the

02:50 ones that are highly targeted towards

02:52 one specific person. Those will always

02:54 be the best conversion in terms of

02:56 getting people to come to your Instagram

02:57 profile and making the decision to

02:58 actually follow you. Now, I'm going to

03:00 teach you guys how to set up the

03:01 follower ad, but first I want to talk

03:03 about why it's so important. The entire

03:05 lifeline of your business depends on how

03:06 much sales you're able to generate on a

03:08 weekly and monthly basis. If you're not

03:09 able to generate new sales opportunities

03:11 on a weekly and monthly basis, you will

03:13 not be in business for very long. Now,

03:14 inside of my coaching program, I

03:16 frequently talk about why it's so

03:17 important to have an organic foundation

03:19 established. But I don't want to just

03:21 rely on the Instagram algorithm to send

03:22 me clients. I don't want to rely on the

03:24 Instagram algorithm to help me make

03:25 money. I want to have a predictable lead

03:27 source where I know for a fact I'm

03:28 always getting new clients coming in the

03:30 front door and I'm always getting new

03:31 leads coming in the front door. And the

03:33 old way of doing this was to add 20 to

03:35 40 friends on Facebook every single day.

03:36 The old way of doing this was to follow

03:38 a 100 people on Instagram every single

03:39 day. That way has proven to be time

03:41 inefficient. And frankly, it's become

03:43 less effective. And so to solve that

03:45 problem, I'm recommending to my clients

03:46 that are making $5,000 a month that they

03:48 start boosting posts. Because with a

03:50 boosted post, if you can get 20 to 40

03:52 followers coming in every single day,

03:54 that means every one or two days, you're

03:56 going to be able to book at least one

03:58 sales call from that. And if you're able

03:59 to book at least one sales call every

04:00 one or two days, and you spend $100 on

04:03 ads for one week and are able to

04:05 generate $1,000, that's a 10x rorowaz.

04:07 And a rorowaz basically means the return

04:08 on every dollar that you spend. So for

04:10 every $1 you spend, you make $10 back.

04:12 Once you prove that boosted posts end up

04:15 making you money, then we slowly but

04:17 surely increase the spend on that

04:18 boosted post. Because if we spend $1, we

04:20 make 10. So why wouldn't we spend $2 and

04:22 make 20? We slowly but surely increase

04:23 the amount that we're spending on ads.

04:25 Now instead of booking one call every

04:26 two days, we're able to book one call

04:28 every day because we're able to book one

04:29 call every day. Now we're making $2,000

04:31 a week instead of $1,000 a week. Then as

04:33 soon as we start making $2,000 a week,

04:34 we increase the ad spend again. Now

04:36 we're able to book one to two calls

04:37 every day because we're booking one to

04:38 two calls every day. You get what I'm

04:39 saying? It's like slowly but surely we

04:41 start increasing the amount of money

04:42 that we're making every single week. And

04:43 we're only doing this based on follower

04:44 ads. I have people in my program, one of

04:46 the guys, his name's Jonathan Ramirez.

04:48 He literally is just running this

04:49 campaign. The only thing he's doing is

04:51 boosting reels, getting people to come

04:52 to his page. He's got a VA to start

04:53 conversations with him. He went from

04:55 $15,000 a month to $50,000 a month. Got

04:57 another client in my program. His name

04:58 is Mina. This is his profile. Mina came

05:00 into my program making $22,000 a month.

05:02 All we taught him how to do is Instagram

05:03 follower ads. He's only running

05:05 Instagram follow ads. He's booking three

05:06 to five sales calls every single day. He

05:07 just hit $100,000 per month. That's all

05:09 you need to do to get to this level. So,

05:11 why is it so important to run follower

05:12 ads? Because I want to be in control of

05:14 my sales pipeline and I want to know for

05:15 a fact that I'm getting new Instagram

05:16 followers in my pipeline every single

05:18 day, which is going to help me create

05:19 more sales opportunities. When you're

05:20 first getting started as an online

05:22 fitness coach, yes, you will have to

05:23 outbound every single new follower that

05:24 you get. However, once you start scaling

05:26 and you have enough money, $10 to

05:28 $15,000 a month to be able to hire and

05:30 train a VA, then you hire and train a

05:32 virtual assistant to start a

05:33 conversation with every single person

05:34 that follows you. Now, all of a sudden,

05:35 you've got an automated lead generation

05:37 system where you don't have to do the

05:38 setting yourself. You got somebody else

05:39 starting the conversation with you and

05:41 then you just take the sales calls that

05:42 your VA is booking. I digress. How do

05:44 you actually set up the Instagram

05:45 follower ad? Well, once you've chosen

05:47 the post that is highly targeted towards

05:48 your ideal client demographic, you're

05:50 going to boost it through your Instagram

05:51 desktop. It's super important not to

05:53 boost it through the back end of Meta

05:55 Business Suite because then you can't

05:56 actually track the cost per follow. The

05:58 back end of Meta Business Suite only

05:59 shows you the cost per profile visit.

06:01 It's also super important not to do it

06:03 on your cell phone because if you boost

06:05 through the Instagram phone, you will

06:07 have to pay a 30% Apple fee. It's super

06:09 stupid, I know. So, what you're going to

06:11 do is you're going to boost through the

06:12 Instagram desktop. I want you to open up

06:13 your Instagram desktop and find the post

06:15 you've chosen to boost. You're going to

06:16 scroll down and you're going to tap

06:17 boost reel. Once you boost reel, it's

06:19 going to open up the setting where all

06:20 the different settings are available.

06:21 You're going to choose optimize for

06:23 profile visits. Once you choose optimize

06:25 for profile visits, you're going to

06:26 choose to create your own audience. All

06:27 right? and create your own audience.

06:29 You're going to turn off advantage plus

06:30 because advantage plus is stupid. It

06:32 doesn't work on boosted posts. Then what

06:34 you're going to do is you're going to

06:35 choose the age range. So if you work

06:36 from people 25 to 35, 25 to 45, you're

06:39 going to put that age range in. You're

06:40 going to choose either men or women. I

06:41 would not recommend boosting to men and

06:43 women. If you're boosting to men and

06:45 women, that tells me that you didn't

06:46 understand what I first said, which is

06:47 that your message needs to be highly

06:48 targeted. If you do work with men and

06:50 you do work with women, then have a

06:51 boosted reel that speaks directly to men

06:53 and have a boosted reel that speaks

06:54 directly to women and boosts the one to

06:56 men to men and one to women to women. I

06:58 digress. So, you're going to choose

06:59 either men or women to boost the post

07:01 to. Then, what you want to do is you

07:02 want to choose your own audience

07:03 settings and you want to put in a bunch

07:05 of interests of men or women that have

07:06 money. In order to do this, you're going

07:08 to go to chatbt and you're going to type

07:09 in, I'm looking to target men that have

07:11 money that are 25 to 55 years old.

07:13 Please give me a bunch of different

07:15 interests that I can plug into Facebook

07:16 or Instagram targeting of men that have

07:18 money. Examples will be Gucci, Prada,

07:20 Louis Vuitton, hiking, hunting, race

07:22 cars, etc. Give me a bunch of different

07:24 examples that I can type in so that I

07:26 can target men that have money. Then

07:27 what you're going to do is you're going

07:28 to take 10 of the interests that Chad

07:29 GBT suggests to you of men that have

07:30 money. You're going to plug them in to

07:32 your little custom audience setting.

07:35 Once you have your custom audience,

07:36 you're going to press save. Then you're

07:37 going to scroll all the way down. You're

07:38 going to select your budget. When you're

07:39 first getting started with boosting

07:40 Instagram posts, I would recommend doing

07:41 $20 a day. The reason I recommend doing

07:43 $20 a day is it's a good testing budget.

07:45 When you are boosting posts, you're just

07:47 going to press the boost button. This is

07:48 exactly what you're looking for. The

07:49 ideal scenario is that you get under a

07:51 dollar per follower. That's the first

07:52 thing. The second thing though that's

07:53 really important. These things are

07:54 equally as important. Under a dollar per

07:56 follower and they are your ideal

07:57 clients. So what you need to do for 48

07:59 hours is you need to monitor the

08:00 followers that are coming in from your

08:01 boosted reel. Number one, are they under

08:03 a dollar per follower for a fitness

08:04 niche? If they are, awesome. You've

08:06 found a winner. Number two, are they

08:07 your ideal client? If they're under a

08:09 dollar per follower, but they're not

08:10 your ideal client, then turn off the

08:11 booster reel. If they're under a dollar

08:13 per follower and they're your ideal

08:14 client, congratulations. You found a

08:16 winner. Most coaches find a winner after

08:18 their second or third. If you find it

08:19 after your first, you're gangster.

08:20 Congratulations. Now, another thing I

08:22 just want to say, if they're between one

08:24 and $2 a follower, but 70 to 80% of them

08:26 are your ideal client, I would keep it

08:28 on because it's still worth it if the

08:30 clients that are coming in are exactly

08:32 who your ideal client avatar is. Even if

08:34 you're paying$1 to $2 a follower. One of

08:36 my clients, his name is Zach. His

08:37 followers come in at about a dollar to

08:39 $2 per follower. And he's making

08:40 consistently $35,000 a month. and he's

08:42 got a 5x return on ad spend, which means

08:44 every $1 that he spends, he makes $5

08:46 back, which is a very profitable

08:47 business. So, under a dollar per

08:49 follower is what you're looking for, and

08:50 you're looking for your ideal client.

08:51 Now, not all followers that come in are

08:53 going to be your ideal client

08:54 demographic. That's okay. I would say if

08:55 more than 70% of them that are coming in

08:57 are your ideal client. You've got a

08:59 winner. Now, all you need to do is you

09:00 need to wait for your first sale. So,

09:02 you're going to start conversations with

09:03 every single person that comes in. Once

09:05 you book one sales call and you close

09:06 one deal from that follower ad

09:07 specifically, what that tells us is that

09:09 follower ad is profitable. Once the

09:10 follower ad is profitable, we're going

09:12 to figure out what our return on ad

09:13 spend is. In order to figure this out,

09:15 you're going to identify how much money

09:16 you've actually spent on that campaign.

09:17 So, let's say you spent $20 a day for 5

09:19 days, you spent $100. Then, you're going

09:21 to figure out how much cash you

09:22 collected on that phone call. Let's say

09:23 you sold a monthly program for $400 a

09:25 month. So, you spent $100 and you made

09:27 $400. You're going to do $400, how much

09:30 you made, divided by how much you spent,

09:32 $100, it equals four, which means for

09:34 every $1 that you spend, you make $4

09:36 back. That's a winning rorowaz. Anything

09:39 where you spend $1 and you make $3 back

09:41 is a winning campaign. Anything where

09:43 you spend $1 and you make $2 back is a

09:45 losing campaign. We turn those off. We

09:46 only scale winning campaigns. And in

09:48 order to have a winning campaign, it

09:49 needs to be 1 to 3x rorowaz or higher.

09:52 I've got some clients that have a 17x

09:53 row. One of my clients, his name's

09:54 Hector. He's crushing it. However, I

09:57 would say anything at a 1 to3 ratio is

09:58 something that you can scale. Hopefully,

10:00 this video was helpful and you learned

10:01 how to run follower ads in this video.

10:02 There's more than enough information to

10:03 be able to take this video and be able

10:04 to run with it immediately. If you have

10:07 ads, just shoot me a DM on Instagram.

10:08 And if you want to learn exactly how to

10:10 use follower ads to scale your business

10:11 and you want to learn the backend

10:12 systems that go with that, tap the

10:13 button in the description of this video

10:14 and we can book in for a call with me

10:15 and my team. And I'll see you on the
