If the wind is swirling like it is
today, anything could happen.
Oh crap. Yep. Took a drop. So, Abandoned
Dunes is known for its length style
golf. And so, you can just see all of
the curvature of every single fairway.
My advice is wear some comfortable
shoes. I'm dropping again.
This is a hard hole for sure.
All right. So, we are here at the
gallery, a special private room that
we've got for breakfast this morning.
and you know, everybody's getting to
know each other for the first time in
like a real formal setting. And then
we're going to do our mastermind portion
of this where, you know, we're going to
break down businesses, get questions
answered, get connections, all that good
stuff. So, this is probably I mean, it's
hard to say anything's better than the
golf, but many people say this is the
most impactful part of the event. All
right, so we're out here at Bandon
Dunes. You can probably see my shirt and
hear it in the audio. It is a windy day
today. Supposed to get to like 30 mph
winds. We got behind me the clubhouse of
the course. We just teed off on hole
one. And let me tell you, this course is
beautiful. I'm excited to play it. We're
going to point out things that are
really cool about this course, and I
think you guys are going to really enjoy
it. If I'm long, what happens?
>> Long is just barely off the green.
>> Short is fine.
>> Short is kind of dead.
>> Then I'll I'm going to switch clubs. I'm
going to get a pitching wedge.
So, this is my second time playing this
course. you know, we played it two years
ago and this was actually the first
start of like this M19 concept where we
would take entrepreneurs to bucket list
trips. And so we had, you know, a group
of eight guys that went out here back in
2024 and, you know, played abandoned
dunes, Pacific Dunes, abandoned trails,
and um, Bandon Preserve. And it was just
such an amazing experience. And so it's
so cool to come back 2 years later with
48 people of just all kinds of
businesses and entrepreneurs. Man, it
it's it's kind of surreal. And now I'm
excited to play this again now that I've
been through the course once. I think
playing a course the second time is even
better than the first cuz you know what
to expect.
>> All right.
Way short.
You suck.
Think
>> the wind's not going to hurt it as much.
It's that side wind again.
>> You hit the ball pretty high. I'd put it
65 70
>> and aim at the right edge of that left
bunker.
Oh, no. Stop.
We got about 35. I'm going to hit a
little low
shot. Try and roll it up there.
Oh crap. Stay in.
Oh gosh, what a shank.
Probably like around here. Yep. Took a
drop.
So, Abandoned Dunes is known for its
length style golf. And so, you can just
see all of the curvature of every single
fairway. I mean, walking here ain't no
joke. I mean, we just walked up a whole
hill, you know, on hole one to get to
the green. And then we had to walk up
another hill to get on the T- box a
whole two. And now, you know, we're just
walking through this hilly terrain. So,
man, my advice is wear some comfortable
shoes because this walk, you know, we're
playing the greens, which are like 6,300
yards. It's going to feel a lot longer
than that walk-wise. I'm dropping again.
I didn't turn
right at it.
>> 360, baby.
>> Let's go.
>> No way.
>> Ernie. So, the story of Bandon Dunes is
really cool. The founder, Mike Kaiser,
was not even like a golf course guy. He
just loved the game of golf. And he
actually had a greeting card business.
And he was looking at all of the things
that was happening in America with carts
and, you know, all this stuff that
wasn't like what he saw in Europe. And
so he said, "You know what? I see this
piece of land, this was back in 1999,
and I want to start something that's
homage to those things. I want to do uh,
you know, walking. I want to do links. I
want to do no carts at all, period."
Right? And Bandon Dunes was the first
version of that. And from there came
Pacific Dunes, you know, Old Mac, Sheep
Ranch, all the cool ones, you know,
Bandon Trails, everything that you see
today. It was like proof of concept with
one that led to so many others.
Oh crap. Stop.
>> This is a hard hole for sure.
Get in.
>> LET'S GO. SO, DAVID MCCLELAY kid was the
architect of this course and really this
was his big break. You know, like he was
some unknown guy from Europe that hadn't
really done much. His dad was a
greenskeeper. So, he grew up in the game
and so, you know, Kaiser found him and
ended up just, you know, having him do
this and he made a name for himself and
now he's developing some of the best
courses in the world. He actually just
did a course we're going to go to next
month in Austin, Texas called Laura
Loma. It's a brand new private course
built in 2025. So, make sure you're
subscribed so you can go see that one.
But he just did that in Austin, Texas.
That didn't turn a lot downwind. We're
going to just hit a 4 iron as far as we
can and hope for the best.
I hit it right. Are you kidding me?
Oh, what an out. Oh my gosh. How did you
end up in this?
>> I don't know.
>> This is the 280 into a bunker size.
>> Jeez. I like this grass thing, though.
This is cool. This is super unique. I've
never seen a like a grass bunker like
this, but then like just flat sand.
Super cool. All right, it is windy.
out here on hole 16. Let me tell you,
it's beautiful.
But the wind is fierce. We got this at
least 30 miles, maybe more. How what
what kind of gust do you think this is?
>> 35. Yeah.
>> 35. Yeah. This is This is heavy.
The Bandon's hosted a lot of big-time
events. I think in 2020 they had the US
amateur. You know, they had a women's
junior amateur recently and then they
have the Walker Cup coming up in a few
years. So, it's a great place to play. I
mean, man, if the wind is swirling like
it is today, anything could happen at
these events. And it makes it like a
truly skilled golf game to be able to
play in the elements, which I can't do.
It is interesting though that the PGA
hasn't hosted an event or anything else
at a place like this. But I mean, they
don't need the PGA. Like they're they're
sold out every day. It doesn't matter.
Oh, I pulled that,
dude. Oh my gosh. I'll drop up there.
So, as we're walking up hole 18 here,
just a reminder, if you are making over
seven figures, eight figures, nine
figures in your business, you want to
play with other business owners at the
best places in the world like Bandon
Dunes, go to mastermind 19.com. Apply
today. We're going to have 20 plus trips
in 2027. It's going to be epic. Uh just
tons of great people, great guys, great
women, uh so many different diverse
businesses that are in the group. And so
if you just want to be around that, I
would highly recommend applying and
talking with our team. But overall, as
far as Bandon Dunes goes, I mean, just
such a beautiful course. I love walking.
So for me, just being able to come out
here, walk, enjoy all the scenery, and
even, you know, the wind has been pretty
bad today. And um, you know, I've still
been in short sleeves. Like it it's not
cold. It's just hard to play golf when
when the wind is so strong. So you know,
that's just part of Bandon Dunes. That's
part of the mystique. like you know it's
going to be windy a lot of times. So
make sure you practice your golf game.
Hit some low shots.
Look, if I'm coming to Bandon, I can
only play three courses. I mean, I'm for
sure playing Bandon Trails in one of
them cuz it's the most unique. It's most
different. You know, Sheep has got the
most water. I really enjoyed that. But
I'm probably putting Pacific Dunes or
Sheep. One of those two because they're
kind of similar in my opinion. And then
I got to have Bandon Dunes. I mean, this
is the signature course. So, yeah.
Bandon Dunes, Bandon Trails, and then
one of Pacific Dunes or sheep. And for
the bonus in the morning, play the
preserve or shorty.
A you dog. Let's do a cool putt for a
double.
>> Cool. Double
>> double, baby. That was great, buddy.
That was fun.
>> That was fun, guys. That was fun.
>> Sorry.
>> That was fun. That was fun. That was
fun.
>> That was fun. Yeah. And if you're lucky
enough to stay here, they've got some
cottages and cabins. You can see like,
you know, there's seven courses and
there's very few lodging spots available
on site. So, a lot of times you got to
stay in the town abandoned at like the
Best Western or the Bandon or one of
these things. But man, if you if you're
able to go enter the lottery and get
into one of these, I mean, I'd highly
recommend it. The the money is worth it.
Get a view of Hole 18, the clubhouse, go
walk there. It's just it would be a
great stay. This has been a great trip.
If you want to come on one of these,
like I said, check us out. Subscribe to
the channel. But we're going to be
playing Pacific Dunes tomorrow.
