This is the number one ranked resort
course destination in Texas. I can see
why the PJ holds events here. The first
nine holes here are like some of the
best in America. So, we're going to find
out whether or not that's true. Hey, so
we're at Fazio Foothills here at Barton
Creek right now. This is hole number
two. View from the fairway. Absolutely
stunning view with the lakes, the homes,
everything else. I mean, already we were
at the uh Crrenshaw cliffside yesterday
and there wasn't really many homes, but
to see these homes just right there on
the backdrop of the pin is really
incredible. You know, the rumor is that
the first nine holes here are like some
of the best in America. So, we're going
to find out whether or not that's true
and then why, you know, maybe they say
the back half is a little bit different.
We've got a lot of Texas M19 members who
have played here before and they say
that this course is pretty difficult.
So, we're going to find out. I just got
a double bogey on the first hole. It's a
lot of bad shots, but it's going to be
fun to see how this plays out.
Thanks.
It's right at it. This is the number one
ranked resort course destination in
Texas. Um I think it's like number three
overall just period in Texas. And I can
already see like the course itself has a
ton of character. The resort itself is
amazing. I mean, we we've spent two
nights over there at Barton Creek and
the Omni Hotel and let me tell you, the
beds, the rooms, everything is just
topnotch. Um, the dinners and the food
have been topnotch. The staff topnotch.
Uh, you know, our events director was
telling us she went to the pool
yesterday while we were all golfing and
she's like, "The pool is just insane.
The views outside of the hotel, you
know, were awesome. We had uh you know
our little cocktail hour over at Jim
Bobs. There's like literally a place
called Jim Bobs at this place in Texas,
which makes sense. Like if you have a
big family and you know you want to
bring your kids and everything else,
it's a great spot because you can bring
them go play around out here. They got
plenty of stuff to do in the resort.
It's just like a really good vacation
spot. And a lot of our Texas members are
on this trip and they're all like,
"Yeah, I've brought my family out here
before. It's awesome." All of it.
Oh, it didn't move.
Oh my gosh, that was the worst putt I've
ever done. I like missed the hole. One
of my favorite parts of golf courses are
the houses cuz I'm a real estate guy.
For those who don't know, I've flipped
almost a thousand houses. And uh you
know, it's funny. We just looked up what
that house is worth. Like in Vegas, I'd
be like, "Oh, this house is like $20
million on a sick golf course. It's it's
like 4 million bucks on Zillow." And I'm
just like, dude, no wonder everyone at
Texas looks like they live like kings.
It's like it is not even that. It don't
even cost that much to live like a king
out here. He has a literal castle for 4
million bucks.
I piped that drive about 340 completely
blind shot about 220. There's a creek
down there that we can't see. So I'm
going to try and play it long. I got a
five iron. Hopefully it lands pin high.
I got to aim basically at this chimney
up there. So, if I end up near the
chimney or left of it, I should be good.
Nope, that's way right. I have no clue
where that's going to go.
Oh my gosh, that was the weakest putt
ever.
Jeez.
That'll play. Yeah, that was about 340.
Go.
So far, my impressions of this course, I
mean, we're on hole six. Definitely a
lot better than Cliffside. I mean, just
the holes are cool. Conditions very
similar, but you know, they got the
waterfalls and they got like the creeks
and, you know, all these different cool
little features. And I I can see why the
PJ holds events here. You know, at the
end of the day, it's a difficult course.
It's got a lot of different things going
on that make it tough. There's trees
everywhere all along the fairway. So,
you end up under one, you're in trouble.
I really like this course so far. I'm
really curious to see how Canyons is
compared to it. So, if you want to see
our review on canyons, make sure you're
subscribed cuz we're playing that
tomorrow.
So, the cool thing is all the rolling
hills on this course, like it's always
sloping somewhere. Like hole two had a
big slope, hole five had these massive
split fairways. In Vegas anywhere where
I'm from, we don't have like hilly
terrain like this in Texas. And so, it's
really cool to just see how they use the
contours of the landscape. That's
probably my favorite thing about golf in
general is just you're taking a piece of
real estate that's natural to this
environment and creating something
completely cool and unique um to the
environment. That's what the best
courses do.
Oh, freak.
I went that way.
Dude,
come down. This hole is super cool. I
mean, it's a par five with like this
little kind of thing that you only see
once you get about 300 yards. Like, and
then you get to these trees and you got
this cool little fairway. Obviously, you
would like to be in the fairway, not
where I'm at, but really cool
nonetheless.
Birdie. birdie. BOOM.
LET'S GO.
STAY.
SO, OVERALL, I mean, we're on hole 11
right now. Just a beautiful back nine. I
don't know what they're saying about the
back nine's not anything crazy cuz this
is first two holes have been great. Then
even looking at hole 18 coming back, you
got like the hotel and the resort and
everyone just watching. So, I'm excited
for hole 18.
That one was hit.
Oh yeah. So once again, I just want to
call this out. I mean, we're on hole
like 12 and just the real estate right
next to the green. Really cool. And this
this this hole itself is cool. It's like
260 yards, 265. Obviously a drivable
par4, but cool green undulation
houses. Austin's a great spot for golf
because easy flights, you know, it's
like this place is 25 minutes from the
airport. Resort's topnotch, food's
great. So, you know, just beyond golf,
it's just a great experience. You know,
some of these places that we go are very
difficult to get to. You know, airport
might be 2 hours away from a spot,
middle of nowhere, there's nothing else
to do for your family. It's kind of just
a guys only golf trip or whatever. So,
and there's places like Austin where
there's so much to do. It's easy travel.
Central. This may not have the prestige
of abandoned dunes or anything else, but
it makes it a really cool spot.
Damn.
I'll do that.
There it is, dude. Flaring every long
iron.
Wow, that went straight.
Gosh, hit the ball.
Wow, that went high.
You suck.
You suck.
Ah.
Oh, drive of the day.
That's going to hit that 370 tree.
Oh, I pulled it.
These holes. These holes together.
>> Jeez.
>> Enjoyed it. Get birdies tomorrow. You
had to
>> enjoyed it. Enjoyed it.
>> That was fun. That was fun. All right,
so we just finished the foothills
course. A lot of fun. Really cool
course. Definitely I preferred it over
Cliffside. Just had a lot more signature
holes, a lot more water, you know, just
cool features all the way around. Little
bit hotter today than yesterday, but
still I mean for late September in
Austin, Texas, like it really wasn't bad
at all. So, had a lot of fun at this
course. Highly recommend it. Excited to
see what's up with canyons tomorrow. So,
make sure you're subscribed on that. And
if you want to come to any of these
trips with us, I mean we do these every
single month. I mean, next month we're
